ぐんまちゃんは2014年のゆるキャラグランプリで優勝した人気のご当地キャラクターです。しかし１回で優勝できたわけではありません。ぐんまちゃんがゆるキャラグランプリで優勝するまでの順位を追ってみたいと思います。そして民間の調査会社が2014年から毎年行っているご当地キャラの調査結果から、ぐんまちゃんの認知度ランキング・好感度ランキングを見てみたいと思います。

ゆるキャラグランプリとは、一言でいえばゆるキャラの人気投票で、正式に第１回とされているのは、主催者が「ゆるキャラサミット協会」となった2011年ですが、前年の2010年にも行われていました。2010年に開催されたゆるキャラグランプリは、携帯投票と記名投票の２つの投票方法があり、それぞれで順位がつけられました。ここにぐんまちゃんが参加していたのかはわかりませんでしたが、私が調べた限りではこの2010年のゆるキャラグランプリには出ていなかったのではないかと思います。
正式に第１回となったゆるキャラグランプリが開催された2011年は、3月に東日本大震災に見舞われた年でした。日本中が不安と恐怖におびえる中で開催された第１回ゆるキャラグランプリには348シ種類のゆるキャラが参加しました。ぐんまちゃんもその１つ。ぐんまちゃんは奮闘の末、18位に。リベンジを誓いました。この時の第1位は…くまモンでした。

2013年に開催された第３回ゆるキャラグランプリ。3回目となると、ゆるキャラグランプリの知名度もぐっと上がり、どんどん新しいゆるキャラが登場し、1579種類ものゆるキャラが参加しました。ぐんまちゃんは何と752,789票獲得して…3位。また3位。惜しい。かなり悔しい。魅力的なゆるキャラがどんどん出てきて、熱戦が繰り広げられた中で３位を死守できたのは素晴らしいのですが、やはり3位のままでは悔しいということで次回必ず優勝すると誓いました。ちなみに１位はさのまるでした。お隣の県である栃木県のゆるキャラに負けたぐんまちゃん…かなり悔しかったと思います。
2014年に開催された第4回ゆるキャラグランプリ。4回目の出場となるぐんまちゃん。応援部隊もますます力が入ったことと思います。参加したゆるキャラは1700種類にものぼり、かつてない熱戦が繰り広げられました。その結果…ぐんまちゃんは、参加したゆるキャラの中で唯一100万票超え！1,002,505票を獲得して、念願の優勝を果たしたのです。ぐんまちゃん、念願の優勝おめでとう！
この優勝をもって、ぐんまちゃんはゆるキャラグランプリには参加していませんが、毎年多くのゆるキャラが参加し、熱い戦いをしてきたゆるキャラグランプリは2020年の開催で終わりとなりました。第3回以降は、ぐんまちゃんをはじめとする「ご当地部門」のゆるキャラと、「企業・その他部門」のゆるキャラとの２つの部門に分かれて開催されてきたゆるキャラグランプリ。いろんな人に勇気と夢を与え、明るい気持ちにしてくれるゆるキャラに囲まれて幸せな時間を過ごさせていただきましたので、2021年以降になくなってしまうのは寂しいものです。

The 4th Yuru-chara Grand Prix was held in 2014. Gunma-chan will be participating for the fourth time. I think the support team has become even more powerful. As many as 1,700 mascot characters participated, and an unprecedented battle took place. As a result…Gunma-chan was the only mascot to receive more than 1 million votes! She received 1,002,505 votes and achieved her coveted victory. Congratulations to Gunma-chan on your long-awaited victory!
With this victory, Gunma-chan will no longer be participating in the Yuru-chara Grand Prix, but the Yuru-chara Grand Prix, in which many Yuru-charas have participated and fought passionately every year, has come to an end in 2020. From the 3rd onwards, the Yuru-chara Grand Prix has been held in two categories: Yuru-chara in the “local category” such as Gunma-chan, and mascots in the “corporate/other category”. ぐんまちゃんの認知度ランキングGunma-chan’s recognition ranking
株式会社日本リサーチセンターは、2014年から毎年「NRC全国キャラクター調査」を行っています。この調査の「ご当地キャラクター編」でぐんまちゃんも調査対象となっています。調査結果から、まずはぐんまちゃんの認知度ランキングを見てみたいと思います。
2014年から2020年までの7回の時系列（年ごと）の認知度ランキングを見ると、1位から4位は7年間変わっておらず、不動の4キャラクターと言えます。1位はくまモン、2位はふなっしー、3位はせんとくん、4位はひこにゃんです。残念ながら上位４位までにぐんまちゃんは入っていません。
1位のくまもんは、７回とも認知度90％以上というスーパースターです。
2位のふなっしーは、87％～92％と、こちらも認知度がとても高いキャラクターです。
3位のせんとくんは、64％～74％と、まあまあ多くの方が知っているキャラクターです。
4位のひこにゃんは、62％～70％と、3位のせんとくんと近い認知度のキャラクターです。
ぐんまちゃんは？ぐんまちゃんの認知度が気になるところですが…
2014年を除いて5位です。2014年だけみると…認知度8位だったんです。
ちなみに、この調査は毎年だいたい10月に行われているんです。2014年って…そう、あのゆるキャラグランプリでぐんまちゃんが優勝した年なんですね。その年だけ8位だったのです…。この結果はかなり衝撃的でした。2015年以降は一応5位をキープしているぐんまちゃんですが…
2014年の認知度は20％、2015年は37％、2016年は36％、2017年は38％、2018年は35％、2019年は36％、2020年は40％、そう、ようやく2020年に認知度4割に到達したところなのです。4位までの6割以上と比較すると…かなりショックですね。残念ながらぐんまちゃんの認知度はそこまで高くないという結果が出てしまっています。これは…もっとぐんまちゃんを知っていただかなければ！そういう強い想いもあり、このブログを書いています。2021年以降、ぐんまちゃんの認知度は上がるのでしょうか？
2020年の調査結果を見てみると、上位4位までのキャラクターは、全国各地でまんべんなく認知度が高くなっています。ひこにゃんは北海道・東北地方で55％となっているものの、あとはすべて60%以上となっており、上位4位のキャラクターがどこでも認知度が高いということが数字で表れています。
これに対してぐんまちゃんは、関東でこそ59％の認知度ですが、あとは30％以下となっています。ゆるキャラグランプリ優勝経験者として全国でもっともっと認知度が高くなってほしいと思います。そのためには、まずは、地元である関東で、もっと認知度が高くなってほしいと思いますね。

Unfortunately, Gunma-chan is not in the top four.
Kumamon, who came in first place, is a superstar with a recognition rate of over 90% all seven times.
Funassyi, who came in second place, is also a highly recognized character with a rating of 87% to 92%.
Sentokun, who came in 3rd place, is a character that a fairly large number of people know, with a rating of 64% to 74%.
The 4th place Hikonyan is a character with 62% to 70% recognition, which is similar to the 3rd place Sentokun.
What about Gunma-chan? I’m curious about Gunma-chan’s recognition level…

Looking at the 2020 survey results, the top four characters have high recognition across the country. Although Hikonyan has a popularity rating of 55% in Hokkaido and Tohoku, all other regions have a rating of 60% or more, which shows that the top four characters have high recognition everywhere.
Gunma-chan, on the other hand, has 59% recognition in the Kanto region, but less than 30% in the rest of the world. As someone who has won the Yuru-chara Grand Prix, I would like to see him become even more well-known throughout the country. 認知度ランキングでご紹介した株式会社日本リサーチセンターが2014年から毎年行っている「NRC全国キャラクター調査」。この調査では好感度ランキングの調査も行っています。ぐんまちゃんの認知度ランキングは５位でしたが、好感度ランキングは何位でしょうか？見てみたいと思います。
2014年から2020年までの7回の時系列（年ごと）の認知度ランキングを見ると、1位から3位の入っているキャラクター7年間変わっておらず、不動の3キャラクターと言えます。1位はくまモン、2位はふなっしー、3位はひこにゃんです。ただし、2014年と2015年は１位がふなっしー、２位がくまモンでした。ぐんまちゃんは2014年の好感度ランキングは6位、2015年以降は4位です。
1位のくまもんは、７回とも好感度30％以上で2020年は40％でした。
2位のふなっしーは、23％～38％という好感度でした。
3位のひこにゃん12％～16％でした。
気になる4位のぐんまちゃんの好感度ですが、３～7％となっています。
個人的には、好感度の1位で30％台なので、認知度とは異なり、好感度で高い数値を出すのは難しいのですね。
多くのキャラクターにいえますが、やはり好感度が高いのは地元の地域ですね。くまモンは全国的に比較的好感度が高いキャラクターですが、中国・四国・九州では49％という好感度なので、地元では約半分の方が好感を抱いているのですね。これに対してぐんまちゃんは、関東での好感度が12％。あとの地域は一桁なので、もっと素敵さをアピールして好感度をアップさせたいところですね。2021年以降の好感度が上がることを祈るばかりです。
